The app for sharing parking spaces for electric car owners

Amsterdam has around 1150 car charging stations. This is a parking space that is only available for electric / hybrid cars. It takes 6-8 hours to fully charge a car, but on average cars take the parking spot for 16 hours.

For the minor User Experience Design at the University of applied science Amsterdam I got the assignment to come up with an app that tempts users to share their parking space with other users to Increased efficiency of a charging stations.

The concept

The user must be triggered to move his car if a neighbour wants to recharge his car. When a neighbour asks you to take your car away, you might be cooking diner, watching your favourite TV show or it might be snowing outside. So for you moving your car makes you the hero of the day for your neighbour. This app takes that literally.
